While working on some ideas for a possible collaboration with Zoot.cz I felt in love with the concept of being a Zooter (more than a customer) part of Zoot (more than a Store, more than the sum of all Zooters). Since this Store aims to be on the verge of digital I though I could communicate those ideas by using the tv as visual metaphor.
So as I was thinking about this idea of Zoot as a meeting point for Zooters (to shop, talk or even listening music) I was sketching it digitally using processing.org
Keep in mind that this is not the end result it's just the outcome of ideation process.Graphic Design, Programming2013 -

Academic project done within the Theory and History of Design class. Here we choose a temporal range from the history to create a publication which should reflect its topic by its content and form.
In this publication The International Style is documented in a succinct and clear narrative. Where our goal was to communicate through an object where form and content are linked.

In this project the generative procedures are studied as a form to instigate the creative process in the application of the practical case: organic forms. The scope of this study the forms are developed by computational means, using Processing.org as a creative tool. The computer is seen not only as technology, but also as a laboratory where creativity is stimulated to explore an infinite range of experiments in the form of a series of artworks. The goal is to document the creative process by developing artifacts inspired by nature, yet deliberately different from those found in nature and, therefore, novel. Throughout history, organic ornaments were created alluding to forms broadly found in flora.
The search for perfect organic forms is not new in graphic design. The wish of creating organic ornaments have resisted trough times and technologies. The present project is iterative and divided by phases. I deconstruct plants into details of shape, scale and color, continuing until the desired level of visual diversity is obtained. From this point onwards I start to sketch using processing.org, combining the previous details (NOT as assets to draw but only as ideas) trough programming to generate problems and ideas, to create organic forms that illustrate a myriad of themes, to explore formal aspects related with the inspirational images, etc.
Programming turned out to be an excellent way to accomplish that, allowing me to create generative studies that are not only results but also the seed for subsequent ones, influencing the course of this open-ended experience. Trough it, I show how computer can be a creative partner by exemplifying how programming may be applied to the generation of new forms with organic value.
Images from the creative process can be found at organic-forms.pedropintosilva.comDigital Art, Programming2012 -
This project is based on the post-humanist conception of conscience according Pepperell (2000). Me and posthuman is a free adaptation of the imaginary posthumanist by computational means. It is an interactive experience where the public is invited to participate.Digital Art, Programming2012 -
Project done with Processing.org. The purpose was to express my interpretation of a maritime environment and of its most interesting creature, the jellyfish. Without assets every artifact is created by me through computation and interaction. It is not a drawing although it is able to receive input commands to change parameters or states.Digital Art, Programming2012 -

The visual identity documented here is the result of the final work of Design atelier 2, taught by teachers Liza Ramalho and Pedro Cruz at University of Coimbra, Master in Design and Multimedia.
It is a critical analysis of the Coimbra prison as a material element of extreme importance because of its architecture, but also as an immaterial of great relationship with society.
This is a personal critical perspective of what should be the visual identity of an institution with such an important role in society. By detecting the biases inherent in this type of establishment I could understand its essence and its role in society. My vision was built during my reading of Surveiller et punir e de L. Stoobant, Annales de la Société d’histoire de Gand by Michel Foucault.Branding, Graphic Design2012 -
Typography projectTypography, Publishing2011 -
The project was made in Typography classes at University of Coimbra.
The main challenge was to explore typography-sound relationship by understanding how interpretative and meaningful typography can be about one song and the end product is one cd cover (like a single) plus the double page.
To do this work I chose the song Breathe from The Cinematic Orchestra group.Typography2011 -

Starting with "Que País " an old book*, chosen by me and Paula Cruz, we tried to transform it in digital new media site where it's possible to experiment different user's reactions with new technology(html5+css3+javaScript). Paula was more focused in static design and me in design interaction, photography and image.

*"Que País" was wrote by Blasco Hugo Fernandes and it's a political critic in favor of those who didn't received enough money to eat, for those who had to work more than eight hours without vacation without nothing. We use this "protest voice" but now with our reality with nowadays problems.Web Design, Graphic Design, Photography2011 -
